• How This Works

      Short Version

        1) Every Sunday a new crochet Prompt or Challenge will be posted. In addition, a Mission will be posted on the first day of each month, and possibly within any given month.
        2) Copy the Prompt/Challenge/Mission to your own blog with your response then come back here and leave your link in the comments of the appropriate topic so everyone will know where to find it.
        3) If you don't have a blog, why not start one? Or you can just post your response here.
        4) You don't have to participate in every post. Do the ones you want. Backtrack if you wish. 5) If you have any comments about this site and/or suggestions for a prompt/challenge, click on the "Share Your Ideas" tab and use the form to send it.

For the long-winded version, click the About button.

The Main Idea Behind SS

Stitch-Stirrers is basically a new idea for Crocheters. Other fiber artists may join in as well, but the whole idea behind SS is to help get crocheting the recognition it deserves.

“How do you intend to do this?” you may ask, which is a valid question. I really don’t plan to do it alone. Instead, I’ll post prompts to help get that crocheting brain to thinking. Those who wish to respond will need their own blog so that they can post their replies there and then link their response in the comments of the appropriate thread here.

If someone wants to participate and doesn’t have a blog, one of two things is possible: 1) That person can post their response in the comment field here. -or- 2) That person can start a blog, not only for their responses but to show off their crocheting talents as well, which in return will add the the ever-growing amount of crochet blogs out there on the web already.

The prompts won’t be just question and answer, but the main theme of every one of them will be crochet. New patterns will get written. New writings about crochet will begin. New designers will be born. And the crochet revolution will take a whole new fun & exciting twist.

So grab those hooks and get ready!

  7. I don’t know how much I can participate, but I love crochet! I have to really love a pattern before I can even think about crocheting it. I am just not able to do that! I don’t know why, but I do crochet alot and have some fantasitc ideas and have won many ribbons at state and county fairs!
